In 1983, I gave my life to the Lord after a visiting evangelist came to my school to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was not only convicted but drawn by the love of God, and not long after, I surrendered my life to Christ, was baptized in Jesus' Name, and filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I have been serving the Lord since and have served in many capacities in the local church, as well as being used of God to minister in other churches. In 1997, my husband and I migrated to Toronto, Canada, and attended Weston Road UPC under the leadership of Pastor FW McKenzie. We have served in the church, now Faith Sanctuary, since then, first as lay people and now in a Pastoral capacity.
I have lived on three continents, working with diverse ethnicities. I have found that all people have the same fundamental need – to love and be loved, have a sense of belonging, and to have purpose; all of which can be found in Jesus. I’ve connected individuals from Africa and England to share cultural knowledge and experiences. My passion is for people from various backgrounds to experience the love and saving grace of our Lord. Not only that, but to experience the transformative power of the word and grow and develop in a healthy community into the people that God called them to be.
My secular careers spanned various roles, including educator in elementary, high school, college, and university institutions, Assistant Director on the corporate front, and entrepreneur. I hold a Diploma in Adult Education and a B.A. Honours Degree in English and a master’s degree in Adult Education. I am an active participant in a Leader Impact group that meets weekly with various leaders throughout Canada; a Sensei with a 3rd degree black belt in martial arts; I am a mentor and assist people in their life journey, and I also have my local license with the United Pentecostal Church in the Ontario District.
Currently, I work full-time at Faith Sanctuary Pentecostal Church as the Executive Pastor. God is fantastic and accurate in His word. I have found him to be faithful – steadfast, unchanging, and immovable. Because of this, I cherish Psalm 27:1 (NKJV), which says: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?”
I am married to Adrian Peel and have two beautiful, grown children. To God be the glory!
